CHARLES E. WHITE Charles E. "Charlie" White passed away February
26, 2007. He was born in Chester, PA and was a longtime
resident of Bethel Township. He was the son of the late Ruby Wallace and
Charles E. White, Sr. and brother to the late Mabel, Lillian and Margaret.
Charlie was a devoted and loving husband to his wife and a dedicated and
giving father to his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was
a graduate of Chester High School and retired from Sun Oil Company in 1973.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Lighter than Air Dirigible
division of the Navy. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and was honored as Shriner
of the Year by the Delaware County Shrine Club where he also served as
President. He was also a member of Nur Temple in Delaware. He was a Director
of Philadelphia Court #72 and honored at The Chapel of the Four Chaplains. He
loved farming, boating, fishing, traveling and being the life of the party.
Finally, he was a good friend to many and will be greatly missed. Charlie is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Josephine Flara White; his children, John E. White, of Boothwyn, Susan C. Tutlane, of Wilmington and Joan M. McCann, of Boothwyn; sister-in-law, Jean Flara, of Brookhaven; brother-in-law, Ricky Leach, of NY; his 4 grandsons, Tom, Zack, Brendan and Nathan; and 2 great-granddaughters, Kaitlyn and Kelli, all whom he cherished. |
