"Dan" Taylor

peacefully January 13, 2016 surrounded by family in Christiana Hospital by
effects caused by prostate cancer. Dan was born November 20, 1931 in Philadelphia,
Pennsylvania to Mary (Black) and Daniel J Taylor Sr. (deceased). He settled
in Wilmington, Delaware after graduating from Lehigh University and serving
two years in the Air Force. Dan had a gratifying 30 year career in the Du
Pont Company, the latter half of which led to his Real Property
Administration designation. Finally, he and his spouse spent several joyous
years working as a team in residential real estate. Dan enjoyed getting
involved in The Brandywine Rotary International and
several other civic, fraternal, and professional organizations. Dan is survived
by his spouse Kathleen Taylor (Tomson), his
children Mary Jane Isaacs (David), Dana Shotwell
(Ken), Mark Taylor, his stepchildren Brian Oliver, Chris Oliver (Nancy),
Elizabeth Oliver, his sister Ruth Yeomans (Taylor),
seven grandchildren, niece, nephew, and his beloved dog Sally. A Celebration
of Life will be held at St Paul's United Methodist Church with a private
family internment to follow at West Laurel Hill
Cemetery arranged by Corleto Latina Funeral Home at
a later date. Dan, known for passing out silver dollars, was a generous,
benevolent man never afraid to lend a helping hand will truly be missed by
