Robert Campbell Kantner, Sr., of Newark, Del., passed away on Oct. 21, 2011. He was 80.

Mr. Kantner graduated from Mastbaum High School and Temple University. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and later became a member of the Delaware Veterans Club.

He worked as a Mechanical Engineer for IRC, TRW, and Lanxide Corp. He was responsible for 33 patents, including the single patent for the Electric Bucket.

Mr. Kantner is survived by his wife of 55 years, Patricia Ruth Kantner (class of 1954 Springfield High School); four sons, Robert, Gregory, Kenneth and Stephen (all graduates of Springfield High School); six grandchildren; and one great grandchild.

Services and burial will be private. The family suggests memorial contributions to Christiana Care Health System (Heart Assn.), P.O. Box 1668, Wilmington, DE 19899-1668.
