CARL W. "Corky" GOODMAN Of Wilmington, DE, age 68, died Friday, May 5,
2006, at Hockessin Hills Nursing Home, Hockessin, DE. Born in Chester, PA, he was the son of the late
Carl W. and Mabel M. Pennington Goodman. He resided in Aston, PA before
moving to Delaware 9 years ago. Mr. Goodman was a truck driver for John Kane
and Sons for 3 years, retiring in 2000. He previously worked for Annex
Transportation in Fairfax, DE. He served with the U.S. Navy during the Korean
War and was a member of the Delaware Veterans Post #1, Wilmington, DE. An
avid outdoorsman, he loved fishing and classic cars (muscle cars). He was a
member of Mount Hope U.M. Church, Aston, PA. He is survived by his children, Carl W.
"Little Corky" Goodman, Jr. of Ashland, VA, William M. Goodman of
Brockport, NY, Karen M. Goodman of Peach Bottom, PA, Mark C. Goodman,
Middletown, PA, Dawn Goodman Horn, Rising Sun, MD, and Jason W. Goodman,
Wilmington, DE; a sister, Shirley Ann "Pinky" Mathews of
Wilmington, DE; brothers, Richard D. Goodman and Jack H. Goodman, both of Aston,
PA, and Kenneth W. Goodman of Wilmington, DE; and 15 grandchildren. He was
predeceased by his brother Robert C. Goodman, who died in 2002. Services were held at 10:30 am, May 12, 2006 at
Mount Hope U.M. Church, 4020 Concord Rd., Aston, PA. Burial was private. |
