Joseph A. Gartside, Jr.,
age 66, died February 8, 2015 at Jennersville
Regional Hospital in West Grove. Joe was born and raised in Boothwyn,
graduating from Chichester High School in 1967.
He honorably served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam Era. For
the last 31 years he was a resident of West Grove.
Joe worked for Congolium
Corporation for 42 years and was the President of the United Steelworkers
Local 12698 for 10 years. He was a member of the Delaware Veterans Post 1,
Wilmington and was an active and beloved member of the Avon Grove Church of
the Nazarene. Joe was a Harley Davidson Enthusiast, getting his first sportster in 1971 and has been riding ever since, often
with his best friend Denny. He enjoyed shooting pool, camping with his
children and loved spending time with his grandson, Rocco.
He was the son of the late Joseph A. and the late
Anne (Fasano) Gartside.
SURVIVORS: his sons: Joe, Brian, and Kevin Gartside;
brothers: Dave (Donna) and
Jim (Linda) Gartside; and a
grandson: Rocco Gartside.
VISITATION: Friday from
5:30-8:15pm at Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home, 5980 Chichester Ave, Aston, PA. Funeral Service: Friday at 8:30 pm at Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home.
