Gene Di Pasquale
1932-2016 Gene Di Pasquale,
age 83, of Garnet Valley, PA passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 23,
2016 at Crozer Chester Medical Center. Born in New
York City to the late Emidio and Maria Di Pasquale,
he was a longtime resident of Concord Twp., PA. Gene received his B.S. from
Iona College, M.S. from L.I.U. and a PhD. from N.Y.U. He served in the Army
from September 1954 to August 1956 during the Korean War. Dr. Di Pasquale was
a member of several scientific professional societies and listed in American
Men in Science and Who’s Who in the East. He has authored and co-authored
approximately 100 peer reviewed articles in Scientific Journals, chapters in
several biomedical books and three patents. He worked at Warner Lambert
Research Institute as the Associate Director of Pharmacodynamics,
ICI Americas as Manager of Immunopharmacology and
at Ciba-Geigy as Director of Osteoarthritis and Inflammatory Research. Dr. Di
Pasquale was an emeritus member of American College of Rheumatology, Society
for Experimental Biology and Medicine and the American Society for
Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics. He was a member of the Knights of
Columbus, and the Del Vets. He enjoyed traveling in the U.S.A., Europe,
Mexico and Asia. He especially enjoyed his vacations with his children and
grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by 2
brothers, Louis & Emidio Jr. Di Pasquale, and a
sister Gloria DiRicco. He is survived by his
beloved wife of 53 years, Anita M. Famiglietti Di
Pasquale, children, Lora (Brockton) Curry and Dean (Laura) Di Pasquale,
grandchildren, Johnathan & Alyssa Di Pasquale
and Brockton & Victoria Curry and a brother, Anthony Di Pasquale.
Relatives and friends are invited to Gene’s Funeral Services on Monday,
February 29, 2016 at the Church of the Holy Child, 2500 Naaman’s
Rd, Wilmington, DE. Visitation will be held from 10-11AM, followed by his
Mass of Christian burial at 11AM. Interment will remain private. In lieu of
flowers, donations in Gene’s name may be made to the St. Jude Children’s
Hospital (www.stjude.org).
