James H. De Francis
Jim was born in
Washington, D.C., the son of the late Adeline (D'Alonzo)
and Dom DeFrancis. He was a graduate of Wilmington
High School and he attended Mount St. Mary's College. Jim served his country
in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Delaware Veterans VFW, Post 1. Jim
worked at the DuPont Experimental Station for over 25 years, retiring in
1992. After that, he worked doing what he enjoyed most (fixing and building
things) at home in his workroom and with his son at S&J. Jim is survived by
his wife of 57 years, Barbara (Renz) DeFrancis; his daughter and son-in-law, Jodie and Chris Zuber of Birdsboro, PA; his son, Jamie DeFrancis of Wilmington; his grandchildren, Brianna,
Zachary, Brandon, Jordan and Carson; his great-grandchildren, Melody and A.J.
and his sister, Marie DeFrancis of Estero, FL. Funeral services will
be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to either Delaware Humane Society, 701 A St, Wilmington, DE
