William H. “Bill” Cobb Sr.

WNJ014357-1_20110731Age 77, passed away quietly on Friday, July 29, 2011, at home surrounded by his family

Born to the late Walter and Frieda Cobb, in St. Louis, MO, he attended Beaumont High School. Bill served our country in the Army during the Korean War. After the service, he worked for St. Louis Car Co. Bill moved to Wilmington in 1973 to work for Boeing. In his spare time, Bill was an avid golfer and enjoyed doing carpentry work. He was a long-time member of Delaware Veterans, Post #1.

Bill was predeceased by his 2 sisters, Marie Steeber and Mabel Cobb. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Eleanor "Kay" Cobb; 4 children, Linda Cattlett, Bill, Jr., Michael and his wife Lisa, and Steven and his wife Carley; 7 grandchildren, David, Sarah, April, Alyson, Carrie, Joe, and Holly, and an expected granddaughter, Celia

McCRERY & HARRA Funeral Homes will be hosting a viewing at 6 pm on Wednesday, August 3, at Brandywine Valley Baptist Church, 7 Mt. Lebanon Rd., Wilmington, DE 19803, where a funeral service will be held at 7 pm. Interment will be private at the Delaware Veteran's Cemetery.
