Ralph O. Byrne

Ralph O. Byrne, 87, of Bethel Twp., died December 29, 2012 at Taylor Hospital.


Born to the late James and Ellen Walters Byrne in Chicago, IL, he resided in Bethel Twp. since 1957. A proud U.S. Marine veteran, he served during WWII in the 5th Marine Division as a demolition specialist.


Mr. Byrne retired from Sun Oil Co. in Marcus Hook where he worked for over 41 years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Chester, 236 F&AM, Nur Shrine Temple serving on the directors staff, Delvets Post No.1 in Wilm., Del., and the American Legion and VFW in Bethel Twp.. One of his hobbies was caring for his home.

 
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Davis Byrne who died in 2010, and a brother, James Byrne Jr.

 
Survivors: Three children, Suzanne (Thomas) Crawford, Greg Byrne and Jeffrey Byrne; and two grandchildren, David Crawford and Allison Byrne.

 
Services: 11 AN Friday at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Road, Garnet Valley. Visitation: 10-11 AM Friday at the funeral home. Interment: Private.
