Frank P. Behm

https://cache.legacy.net/legacy/images/Cobrands/DelawareOnline/Photos/WNJ076488-1_20180320.jpgWilmington - Frank P. Behm, 90 years old, died peacefully at his home in Wilmington, Delaware on Sunday, March 18, 2018 while surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, he was the son of Frank J. Behm and Barbara (Shragen). His siblings Bill Behm, Jack Behm and Barbara DeCesaris predeceased him.

Upon graduating from G.A.R. High School, Frank enlisted in the U.S. Army and served with the 1st Cavalry Division based in Japan with the WWII Japanese Occupation Force. Afterward, he used the G.I. Bill to attend King's College in Wilkes-Barre where he wrestled competitively and was elected president of the first four year graduating class.

Frank then married Ann F. Behm (Lenahan) of Sugar Notch, Pennsylvania and they moved to Delaware to start their life together. For 37 years, he worked for the DuPont Company. At DuPont, he was on the cutting edge of the information technology revolution managing the company's first computer implementations.

Frank was one of the original members of the IHM Schola Cantorum choir that sung at various Diocese of Wilmington parishes. He was also a member of Delaware Veterans Post #1. Frank dedicated his life to his family and will be fondly remembered by his four children and six grandchildren for his unconditional love, constant support and inspirational optimism.

Frank is survived by his wife of 65 years, his sons FJ (Andrea) and Paul (Rose), his daughters Peggy and Kathy (Joe Ford) and grandchildren: Sarah and Laura Behm, Michael and Christine Ford, Samantha and Megan Behm.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at 11:00 AM. A visitation for family and friends will take place at the church from 10:00-11:00 AM. Burial will follow at St. Joseph on the Brandywine Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Frank's memory to St. Edmond's Academy, 2120 Veale Road, Wilmington, DE 19810 or to Archmere Academy, 3600 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE 19703.
